ICT Skills Assessment Survey for Educators

The ICT Skills Assessment Survey for Educators provides a cost-effective, results-oriented pre-training instrument to help assess teachers’ skills and needs, as well as to determine priorities for training.

The survey is a self-evaluative assessment tool designed to measure teachers’:

  • Familiarity with educational technology skills
  • Knowledge of classroom applications
  • Priorities for training

The purpose of this assessment is therefore multi-faceted: 1. to determine professional development interests and needs; 2. to develop a descriptive summary of technology skills and usage; 3. to identify a cadre of individuals willing to share skills and techniques with colleagues; and 4. to inventory the type and level of technology in use both at work and at home.

Results are used to develop a blueprint for an ongoing professional development programme for the integration of information and communication technology (ICT) into the teaching learning process.

How it Works

  • Each teacher completes an individual survey consisting of up to 120 items.
  • Completion time is approximately 15 minutes.
  • The 120 items are organized into 8 sections

The number of survey items may be modified to fits the client’s specific needs.

The quiz may be done in hard copy or online.

Based on the results and assessment of the survey, customised training modules are developed and organised to meet the needs and priorities of the targeted group of teachers. Each component of the training programme builds on knowledge and skills gained through prior sessions, while project-based activities between sessions enable teachers to immediately implement newly acquired skills and concepts for technology integration in their classrooms.
